Editorial Policy

How SnoozeSync content is written, reviewed, and corrected

Health information should be accurate, honest about its limits, and accountable to a named human being. This page explains our standards.

Effective date: July 20, 2026 · Version 1.0 · Policy owner: Eskender Beyene, MD

Scope and intended use

SnoozeSync publishes educational content about sleep and about skills informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) principles. All of it is general education for adults. None of it is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and reading it does not create a physician–patient relationship. Every health-related page states who the information is and is not appropriate for.

Authorship and medical review

All educational content is authored and medically reviewed by Eskender Beyene, MD, FCCP, board-certified in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. Each article displays its author, original publication date, and last-reviewed date. When independent reviewers join the editorial process, their names and credentials will appear on the pages they review; until then, pages are labeled physician-authored with independent review pending.

Sourcing standards

Claim approval

Before publication, every objective claim on a page is checked against its cited source by Dr. Beyene. Claims that cannot be substantiated are removed or rewritten as clearly attributed general findings — never "neutralized" with a disclaimer while the headline overstates.

Use of AI in content creation

We use AI tools for drafting assistance, editing, and research organization. No page is published from an AI draft without full physician review: Dr. Beyene reviews every sentence, verifies every citation, and is accountable for every claim, exactly as if he had typed it himself. We do not mass-produce or programmatically generate articles.

Updates and outdated content

Health pages are reviewed at least every 12 months, and sooner when a relevant guideline changes. Each review updates the page's "last reviewed" date. Content that no longer meets these standards is corrected, clearly superseded, or removed.

Corrections

Errors are corrected, not buried. To report a possible error, email support@snoozesync.com with the page address and the concern. Reports are reviewed by Dr. Beyene; substantiated corrections update the page and its review date. Material corrections are noted on the page.

Conflicts of interest

Dr. Beyene owns SnoozeSync and Washington Metro Sleep Institute and has a financial interest in both; this is disclosed on the author page and wherever content references his clinic. Content decisions are not influenced by advertisers — SnoozeSync sells no advertising and accepts no sponsored content.

User-generated content

SnoozeSync does not currently publish user-generated content, testimonials, or reviews on this site. If that changes, this policy will be updated first with standards for verification and moderation.
